Description
Since the first Shell Guide to South-West Wales was published in 1963, Carmarthensire and Pembrokeshire were merged into the new county of Dyfed. This guide sticks with the old two counties and leaves aside Cardiganshire – which was also merged into Dyfed. Carmarthenshire, a mixture of high barren moorland, rich valleys and heavy industry remained proudly Welsh in speech and way of life.
