Antique 1894 Book of Common Prayer Eyre & Spottiswoode Leather Gilt This 1894 edition of The Book of Common Prayer is a beautiful example of Victorian liturgical publishing by Eyre & Spottiswoode. Bound in a rich brown textured leather with elegant gold-leaf edged pages, it remains in lovely condition for its age. The volume includes the complete Psalter (Psalms of David), prayers for use at sea, and the traditional articles agreed upon by the Archbishops. A handwritten provenance inscription from 1894 adds a touch of personal history to this antique devotional piece. O G P initials to the front cover which matches with the name on the inscription.
