Description
Charles Tritten, who was the English translator for Johanna Spyri’s original work, wrote this sequel after her death to satisfy public demand for a continuation of the story. The novel was first published in French as Heidi jeune fille in 1936, with the English translation following in 1938 by Grosset & Dunlap. The story follows Heidi as she goes to boarding school in Lausanne, studies to become a teacher, and eventually returns to her beloved Swiss Alps village to teach the local children and marry Peter.
