Description
Robert Gordon was a merchant from Aberdeen who spent much of his life based in Poland. On retiring to Aberdeen, he decided to leave his considerable fortune to found a ‘Hospital’ for boys’ accommodation and education. Now called the Robert Gordon’s University.
The book is signed by Arthur Lumsden Bedingfield, an author and previous attendee at the University, who went on to be a member of the London Gordonians, who support pupils.
Along with the book is an initialed handwritten letter by Arthur Lumsden Bedingfield as well as a London Gordonians twelfth annual dinner plan dated 1937, a London Gordonian’s Handbook for Members dated 1936/7 and a statement of receipts and payments for the same year.
A great historic book with related ephemera which would be great to add to a collection.
