Florence Margaret Smith, known as Stevie Smith, was an English poet and novelist. She won the Cholmondeley Award and was awarded the Queen’s Gold Medal for Poetry.
More than a hundred poems are brought together in this volume. Some have appeared previously in books, others in magazines; a number are published here for the first time. The poems, like the drawings which accompany them, cover a period of about thirty years.
