The stained glass formed an integral part of the design of almost every Cathedral or major church built from the twelfth Century to the end of the Middle Ages. Canterbury Cathedral is one of the few churches in England in which the glass has survived to a sufficient extent for the medieval plan to be studied in something approaching its full realization.
