The Lonely Plough by Constance Holme c1941

Description

Lanty Lancaster is land agent for the benevolent but ineffectual Lord Bluecaster, overseeing, as his father had done before him, every conceivable aspect of the latter’s Westmorland estate.

Holme wrote her novels around the place where she lived, Westmoreland. Although highly regarded at the time, her fame quickly diminished after her death.

Published by Humphrey Milford Oxford University Press 1941. Blue covers with gilt lettering to spine. Some light bumping. Pages are very clean with no ink or pencil marks and are blue edged. Previous owners inscription to the front.
