Description
Dick and Dorothea Callum visit the Norfolk Broads to learn sailing from the Hullabaloos, a group of local children. Conflict arises when a loud motor cruiser disturbs a nesting coot, leading the local kids to cast the boat adrift in protest. The ensuing pursuit across the waterways involves intricate navigation and local knowledge. As the “pirates” and sailors clash, the children must use their nautical skills to outwit their adult antagonists during a busy holiday season.
Part of the Swallows and Amazons series of books illustrated by the author.
